PRE-START SAFETY

Settings Reference chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Settings Reference › PRE-START SAFETY

Two pre-flight checks that fire before the Start button arms grading. Each has a threshold slider with a small "history" icon — slide to 0 to disable, or pick a threshold appropriate to your job. Each slider has a small reset-to-default button to the right; tap to restore the original threshold.

Elevation Mismatch Check — the switch for the elevation warning below. Off by default: the warning fires at any station where the design calls for a deep cut or fill, and whenever the machine is parked off the design line on higher or lower ground, which caused more confusion than it solved. Switch it on if you want the extra confirmation before Start. While it is off, the threshold slider below is greyed.

Elevation Mismatch Warning — with the check switched on, if the design target elevation differs from your current GPS elevation by more than this value, the app shows a warning before letting you Start. Catches bad benchmark calibration ("you're about to grade 4 ft below where you stand"). Default 30″ / 76 cm. Slide to 0 to disable.

Manual Grade Reference Distance Warning — Manual Grade only. If you Start grading more than this distance from the configured reference point (0+00), the app warns. Catches the case where you forget to re-set the reference after moving to a new field. Default 16 ft / 5 m. Slide to 0 to disable.

Both warnings can be acknowledged and overridden if you know what you're doing — they don't block grading, only confirm intent.
