Troubleshooting

Manual Grade chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Manual Grade › Troubleshooting

The Set Grade / Apply button stays disabled in the bottom bar. The Target Grade % field accepts only digits and a single decimal point — a minus sign won't type. Type a positive value and pick Downhill for a negative slope. The button also stays disabled if the grade field is blank, or if the Depth Offset field contains a negative or non-numeric value — leave it blank for zero offset.

I forgot which segment I'm on. Check the Seg N/M chip in the top stats bar, or look at the per-segment pills on the map. Each pill shows the segment number, grade, and direction.

Reset cleared my segments. Reset clears all session state — segments, current grade, 0+00 references, nudge offset, coverage, breadcrumb track, and imported overlays. Saved files on disk are not touched; if you saved the job (it auto-saves on Stop, on tab switch, and when the app is backgrounded), you can re-open it via the Resume button on the Grade screen the next time you enter Manual Grade with no active design.

The blade jumps when I tap Start on a resumed segment. If the elevation mismatch check is switched on (Settings → PRE-START SAFETY; it is off by default), the Pre-Start safety check fires when your design target at the current GPS position is more than the configured threshold (default 30 in) away from your current GPS elevation. If you resumed at a different elevation than where you stopped (lifted the blade, drove over a rise), the elevation-mismatch dialog will appear — review the magnitude before confirming. With the check off, Start proceeds without that dialog, so read the chevrons before you commit.
