TIN raster overlay (Forming / LandXML)

Map Layers chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Map Layers › TIN raster overlay (Forming / LandXML)

When you import a LandXML TIN surface, the app rasterizes it into a color-coded elevation overlay using barycentric interpolation. Pixels are colored on a 5-stop ramp:

  • Blue → light blue → green → yellow → red (low to high elevation).

Resolution targets ~1 m per pixel, capped at 512×512. The overlay sits between the background and your coverage heatmap.

A 3D preview of the surface appears automatically in the Import LandXML Surface dialog once the file loads — drag to rotate, pinch to zoom. Review it before tapping Apply.
