LiDAR contours

Map Layers chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Map Layers › LiDAR contours

Any field prepared in LiDAR & Mapping with a saved DEM can show contour lines on every map screen. Tap Layers FAB → Add Layer → LiDAR contours, pick the field, then pick a contour interval — 1", 2", 3", 6" or 1 ft (25 to 300 mm in metric); 6" / 150 mm is the starting choice. The dialog estimates how many contour lines that interval gives. An interval that would give more than 500 is refused — choose a larger one. Tap Generate: the contours are worked out on the tablet from the saved DEM (no internet needed), clipped to the field boundary, and drawn as thin lines shaded blue (low) to red (high). Every 5th line is thicker and labelled with its elevation.

You can also tick Contours on a field's row in My LiDAR Fields — it uses the last interval you chose for that field, or 6" / 150 mm. Untick it, or tap the layer's trash can in Map Layers, to remove the contours; the arrow on the layer's row gives an opacity slider. Each field has one contour layer — generating again replaces it. Contour layers last until the app is closed, and deleting the field removes them.
