The Set Grade bar (manual-grade sub-flow)
Excavator chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Excavator › The Set Grade bar (manual-grade sub-flow)
The excavator manual-grade sub-flow (Enter Grade Only) shares the inline Set Grade bar with Manual Grade mode. It sits across the bottom of the map whenever grading is stopped and hides while depth guidance runs.
Fields:
- Target Grade % — digits and one decimal point only; 0 is allowed for a level pad.
- Direction — Uphill (blue up arrow) / Downhill (red down arrow) segmented toggle.
- Depth Offset (in) — or (cm) in metric. Entered as a positive depth; blank means 0.
- The green button reads Set Grade the first time and Apply afterwards.
What Depth Offset does:
A positive value digs below the captured 0+00 reference elevation — the target becomes the reference elevation minus the depth offset, then falls or rises at the grade with distance. Each segment remembers its own depth offset, so legs after Change Grade can run at different depths, and the offsets are saved and restored with the job.
Segments:
Tapping Apply while a segment is open closes it; the next Start (confirmed in the Ready to Start? dialog) anchors a new segment's 0+00 at the bucket's position.
