Setting up the Reach
Ditch Assist Lite chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Ditch Assist Lite › Setting up the Reach
You do this once per receiver. The same three steps are in the app under Settings → Ditch Assist Lite → Setup guide, and the guide opens by itself each time you switch to Lite.
1. On the Reach (Emlid Flow app)
- Connect your phone to the receiver in Emlid Flow.
- Go to Settings → Position output and choose an output slot.
- Set it to TCP, role Server, port 9001, format NMEA.
- Enable only GGA at 5 Hz and VTG at 5 Hz — turn the other NMEA messages off.
- For a machine mount, turn tilt compensation off.
The Reach must be broadcasting its own Wi-Fi hotspot — the network is named reach:XX:XX unless you renamed it.
2. On this tablet
- Open the tablet's Wi-Fi settings and join the Reach hotspot. The password is emlidreach.
- If Android warns that the network has no internet, choose Always stay connected (or the equivalent on your tablet). Every Ditch Assist hotspot has no internet — that is normal.
- On a Samsung tablet, also open Wi-Fi → Intelligent Wi-Fi and turn OFF Switch to better Wi-Fi networks. Left on, the tablet walks away from the Reach hotspot every few minutes and your guidance drops with it.
3. In Ditch Assist
- On Home, tap a workflow card.
- In the connect step, tap Emlid Reach.
- The first time on each receiver, tap Activate and follow Activating a receiver.
